Oil on Linen, 82cm x 55cm
I have been inspired by many genres of art and design and have been working towards communicating our interdependent and collaborative nature with my paintings for a long time. This scene was the first of my figurative paintings and came about when I noticed the way the three sisters interacted, allowing me the first glimpse into their family connection.
This led me to embark on an visual exploration of relationships and what they reveal about our individual and group identities.
Developing a new style required patience and persistence as I have never used a dry brush technique before, but it was important to me to create a tranquil scene which would communicate both strength and fragility.
